Site Admin
Because of new, repeated attempts by spammers to add their trash to the site I've been forced to disable user accounts activation. From now on, ALL NEW USER ACCOUNTS MUST BE APPROVED BY ME.

It may take a day or two before I can approve an account but that's the only way to keep the spammers out.

While Bob is no longer with us. I've been working the approval process.

I'm fairly strict on it. I have a set a guidelines I follow. And if you fail any part of it, I don't approve the account.

I hesitate to disclose just what these checks I use are but generally they don't result in many if any false positives.

Recently I've been asked to explain what these checks are. And I'm not going to. Simply because telling it here gives the spammers the keys to the city.

Sometimes writing with geeks is like eating Jello with a chainsaw. Interesting but painful.

Those who mostly admin are also due our thanks for their great (though mostly background) works on our behalf.
