Heh. It's back with a new entry.
Love him talking to his 'inner girl'. Can't wait to see what develops.
Have Fun!

Well maybe s/he'll get late revenge for her passenger.
I like this story so far, quicker updates would be nice though

Shh! I think the Author is listening...
I don't know about anyone else, but for me the penny dropped when she visualised the pink forklift.
"In brightest day, in blackest night..."
Have Fun!

Sheesh, what is happening? I figured I needed to look maybe next week again, but there were three updates already!
Great story btw. I'm not sure if I like the mental rewiring thing, but considering she's an avatar it probably makes sense. I wonder where this is going. I mean she might end up like a pink fey, the perfect girly girl - shudder.
The MCO might decide they want to be trouble, so there might be some action...
Thank you for writing, I'd really like to read the next chapter.

I'm glad you are enjoying this little tale of mine. I how to keep the updates more constant now. Ever since I got my Samsung Galaxy 7" tablet it has been easier to write whenever the inspiration hit.
Right now I'm working on part 11 and hope to have it up tomorrow or so, unless something happens and I end up posting tonight.
Hugs,
Andrea.

As expected, the MCO shows up before they can get Melody to the police station to get her MID, however, since they are still looking for Mark, and asked for him, I think she will be able to make a clean getaway.

Hmm... I like the story a lot.
However, it may be just me, but this last episode doesn't seem to ring true. The problem is with the MCO agent. He comes across as a bit too much keystone kops.
The MCO should be a lot more scary and willing and able to throw their weight around, and the cops seem far too mutant friendly for the usual Whateleyverse setup, and they MCO does usually have at least some legal authority. They were too easy to stonewall and there was no sense of dramatic tension or fear/anxiety.
Also, I suspect they (the MCO) should be operating in pairs. (Two by two, hands of blue...)
Getting around them by having them looking for a boy and finding a girl, and then the friendly cop arriving and easing them out might work better.

I like the MCO getting caught out by folks knowing their rights and the *legal* limits on what the MCO can do.
In answer to the objections above, do note that it's been mentioned a number of times that the MCO *doesn't* have nearly as much *actual* authority as they like to pretend, but tend to get buy by acting as if they have the authority for things.
As for the cops, different departments react differently. Consider the way different police departments treat GLBT folks. Some are "you must be doing something wrong or these fine citizens wouldn't have attacked you" others are "Are these bigots bothering you?"
One glitch in the latest post. The author has confused two similar phrases with exactly opposite meanings.
"Under the radar" (or "flying under the radar") comes from the practice of flying close to the ground so that radar can't see you.
"On the radar" (sometimes "on their radar") means you've been spotted/noticed.
Melody is *on* the MCO's "radar", not "under" it.

True, it just felt a little... blase about the whole thing. Working in a little more tension would feel better.

Living in a city where the police department has had a monthly "roundtable" meeting with the "alternative lifestyles" folks for over a decade to insure that the cops understand where the gay & kinky folks are coming from and that the gays etc understand where the cops are coming from has spoiled me. Especially given that attitudes the cops tended to have a dozen years before that.
Sure, given the way the Whateleyverse is set up, it won't be common, but it won't be unheard of either.
The trick for the poor mutant is figuring out if the locals actually mean it or are just trying to sound good.
