As promised, here is the first post of Abagail's school story.

Eh, wasn't her name Abigail? In here it says Abagail and at the fanfiction stubtitle itself it reads Abagal....
I haven't read "Dragon Around at School" yet though, so maybe I'm wrong and you changed the name....

On the other front there are the kids who were checking Aby out, I don't think that her GSD is enough to disgust people, her body is basically the one of an extremelly attractive girl with a few exotic bits trown in the mix, it would be like people got disgusted by Fey because she has pointy ears. I can understand Goldenlad having it in for any GSD kid due his upbringing but most of people will go for WIERD + UGLY = FREAK, WIERD + ATTRACTIVE = EXOTIC.

Let's just say that Monochrome got really ripped on for not looking baseline. And yeah, all she needs is a good spray on tan and either contact lenses or sunglasses and no one would look at her twice. That will be addressed at some point in the future.
As for checking Aby out . . . I would give a 10% really into GSD, 10% disgusted, and the rest falling into the middle of the bell curve. So, with the large group of students in Admin for the first day, there will be the few that will be disgusted.
I don't think Fey is a good example though, as she has the whole Glamor thing topping her appearance. Maybe some of the catgirls on campus would be though.
Oh, and as for the name . . . when I started writing this story, I didn't have immediate access to my files on her previous story, so I just put down Abagail. They sound the same, so I'm just going to stick with Aba instead of going back to change it all to Abi.

Another good exemple is Mary Goodhope (aka Angel), resident severe GSD case of Poe, I would like to see Goldenlad hassling her and get the whole Poe gunning for his ass.
I still think that its not a matter of GSD but apparence, would people look at Myiet and think "How gross, a catgirl"? Would people be disgusted by Eldritch (she too has GSD)? I can understand people not being in the furries (hairy bits that would be better naked) or not dating Kaiju because the scales don't feel good when snuggling, but Aby? Soft skin, a body to die for, a pretty, completely human face (horns aside, but those are at the side of the head), sure wierd eyes but we are talking about mutants, that is normal, the only problem is that her tail is bound to make the doggy style position akward. Now I can understand some kids having had too much wierdness and be longing for some normalicy, they will try to get a normal looking girlfriend but for the most part Aby will be judged by the size of her breasts.

Or maybe you can just say "My mistake, lets pretend I have written Abigail instead of Abagail" and use the correct name in the new chapters.

Good points about the GSD, but in my opinion the key word here is 'most'. There will always be the few that fall on the far side of the bell curve about anything.
Also, I think you have more faith in humanity then I do. Which isn't a bad thing.
And yeah, I'll go back to Abi.

Not arguing that but 10% despising GSD cases no matter how they look seems an exageration to me, it takes someone indoctinatred like Goldenlad to hate Aby, most of the other people will consider her "I'd do her" material.

It seems to me that at Whateley at least most of the GSD/MATD hatred is typical teenage emo self-hatred, the Freakshow clique for example. However we know there are bound to be more than a few who look baseline normal/plain that hate both the pretties and the exotics; Migraine is a big example, she hated Kaiju due to her being a real looker even with the lizard-girl thing. Of course there is also the problem of going around outside of Whateley and Dunwich in the midst of the fringe H1 lynch mobs.

H1!-ers aren't to be considered, they hate every mutant, as beautyful, ugly or plain the mutant might be, then sure GSD are going to have a much harder time going around without drawing too much attenction than most of other mutants (some mutants fall on the other end of the scale being so unhumanly perfect that everyone will know they are mutants) but the discussion is about people attitude toward GSD cases, mutant haters despise them for being mutants first and them maybe for looking freakish (some might despise them less than the pretty ones, just look at the H1! brainstorming in "Silver Linings" and Wilson's comments about GSD cases being good PR for the MCO than the pretty ones at the beginning of "There's an Angel in Dickenson Cottage").

Well, the issue might be we haven't seen much story from the POV of, say, Diamondback or Razorback. Even there, though, they do cop some stick.
A significantly long story where the main character is GSD and you get to see life through their eyes will be interesting.
Also, Ali comes from an accepting environment. This will be a shock to the system.
I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode!

There's going to be a shock but I don't think that it will be that big, Abi wasn't born in Perfection, I don't remember if it was in the original story or in the new version but she has expressed a bit of disconfort due to the way (almost) everyone is friendly and helpful, it seemed almost fake to her, she has experience from outside Perfection, she has had to deal with a less-than-friendly attitude by his father and Frank, she has traveled quite a bit between home and the hospital while she was changing, she has already had her first contact with H1!, that's not like she hasn't the experience to cope with Whateley, even if she lacks a bitch reflex.
Living everyday in a much less friendly enviroment will probably bug her but she will cope just fine.
