I'm a Dragon (of course) and have been running primarily a Chaos Magick/Blade build. I've also dabbled to a limited extent with a Chaos Magick/Blood Magick build that may be more to my liking long term but is kinda limited as Blood hasn't been fully accessible in beta so far.

I ran Shotgun/Chaos... I call it the 'Party Pooper' build. Very Happy

With Shotgun I can cause Weakened to multiple enemies, then with Chaos passives like Gnosis that causes more damage vs. Weakened enemies combined with the Shotgun ability that makes enemies explode when they die... Zombies are no problem.

I can see myself transitioning to Pistols/Chaos, though. Still proc off Weakened with The Business (Pistol builder) and still has some nice AOE in the tree.

How you get Blood/Chaos to work? IIRC, Blood is mostly heal and protection stuff, not much can build between each other.

I'm playing around with tanking and healing builds, mostly. Chaos/Blood is a decent off-healer DPS... I use chaos attacks to build resources for both and throw Blood Shields to low health party members or if they don't need them I use a Blood dps ability to dump pts. Any combo can work, really... as long as you're using an ability that generates resources for both weapons (which is most of them). You use the one ability that generates for both... and then have high dmg dumps for both... plus a support or heal ability that works for something other than dmg.

I'll probably run with something a bit more hard core dps at release, I just wanted to get a feel for how things were going to work for tanks and heals.

Funcom is doing an interesting method of expanding their closed beta player base this week... active closed beta players (those of us actually reporting bugs and such) are being given a 'buddy' code that will let another person into closed beta. So... I have a closed beta code if anyone is interested. Just one, though... so if I get a couple people asking, I'll roll dice or something. Smile

Ren gave me his, it'll take me a while to get in the game though because of my internet connection and having to re-download 13 &(&#$ GB.

I've been in the open betas...same screen name

Most of my RL friends are going Lumi, I'll probably have one of each.

I've reserved the name Jiin....haven't yet decided whether she'll be Dragon, Templar or Lumi

and, though I'm tempted to do that, my Jin is not based on Jade...she's an RP concept I came up with around 2001

a reluctant telepath with split personalities

the main: Jean Hannah, an Americanized, cynical, sarcastic Japanese woman with primarily telepathic talents who tries not to use them as much as possible and is a lawyer/private investigator

a....oh man, just realizing what this is....a telekinetic progression...Hana Jin, who is a open-friendly, banzai bombastic samurai-ko that's pretty much Jean's repressed personality traits

I just barely realized that she's similar to Jade in some ways

been a while since I used the telekinetic construct idea, mostly it's been just split personalities the last few years

any I've been asking in general if there are any Whateley fans around...guess we just missed it

and yes, think Kingsmouth Academy is/was very much similar to Whateley

Secret World Early Access begins today!

Anyone looking for me can find me collecting Lore and doing every mission everywhere... on Arcadia/Faerie... the RP server, whatever it ended up being named. As either Jaesic or Awydd, most likely.

I got to play the final weekend beta test...for about 4 hours total.

Story was good.
Graphics was good.
Game mechanics are a bit tricky, but good.
The skill wheel is definitely different.

My 5yr old son watched it over my shoulder, until the zombies chased my character into the church. He was yelling, "The zombies! They're right behind ya! Run!"

Then he ran out of the room, but came back in to watch a few seconds later.

Was kind of funny and had to give him the talk about how it was like "Plants vs. Zombies" and not real.

I've got one of each society. Templar on Cerebus blood/fist going for the exorcist outfit. That's Spheenx. Jiin as a lumi forget the server have friends there. Going the slayer route, blade and rifle. And "PoisonFriend" is my dragon on Huldra going elemental shotgun for now. Most along with my lumi, just have to get the basic elites for rifle and blade before moving on up.

Playing this game. Tried the open beta and was so blown away that I got the lifetime subscription.

Just look for Auly or Aulyenye.

lastly for anyone wanting to try this weekend is a free weekend for anyone to try it.

Look for Jiin, Spheenx or PoisonFriend for me

mostly on Jiin since she's my lumi and my old Tabletop group wanted to play Lumis

personally, I find the lumis to be annoying....would much prefer Templar

Cool.

I know Auly (my main) is Dragon but the other should be Illuminati.
