Ch 33 is up.
Sorry that it took so long. Work as been, well, work and it has been hard to find enough hours in a row to get in the zone.
Also, I am sorta sorry about the cliffhanger ending, but only because of the previous apology. I don't know how long it is going to take me to get the next chapter written.

And the CIA really steps in it. DOD is going to be pissed, and so is DARPA, and the NSA will probably fire Miller, and if they manage to trace it to him Director Falk is in for a world of hurt.

I find the Miller Blackmail amusing.
It's blackmail because if the NSA find out they'll fire him because it's something that can be used as blackmail, due to the fact that the NSA will fire him. Makes sense.

Real world. For at least the last 20-30 years. Being "gay" or the like is only grounds for flunking a security check if you are in the closet.
If you are "out", it's not something you *can* be blackmailed about. But if you are in the closet (and for non-military, such as the NSA, it'd have to be something like potential family problems, since the *agency* won't care) then you can be blackmailed and are thus a security risk.
So it's whatever *other* reason he's hiding it that makes him blackmailable, and thus a security risk. Which means he'd get fired.
If he was military, that whole "don't ask/don't tell" thing changes things. As does the fact that the UCMJ *still* lists "sodomy" as a felony.

I think that the DADT policy has been trown out of the window and homosexuality is no longer an issue right now, however the story take place before this happened so it's relevant.

Good point about the speed of the drug reaching the brain. I would also think that Whisper should have the ability to cut off blood flow to a area for a long enough time for her body's nanites to produce a counter agent or at least allow her to escape.

I would like to say, that for the record, the original draft had it injected into her neck. Not sure why I wussed out and had it in the arm...
I am thinking that "if" I ever re-revise this chapter, the NSA dude will get cut. His role isn't really that key and seems to be more of a distraction.
Now, I just gotta get a sequential hours of writing in...

Well, even with DADT gone, there's the fact that Congress won't vote to remove *consenseual* sodomy from the UCMJ. So even now you can get arrested and sentenced to prison for oral or anal sex if you are in the military (No, Lawrence v Texas doesn't apply to the UCMJ)
