Here is some fan art from my deviant art page.
Team Kimba in Berlin.
Homework and Chocolate.
These were originally posted on the DAZ Studio forum.
Notes: Alya's and Billie's hair.
I somehow pictured Alya as having light brown hair and it wasn't until I re-read his origin story that I saw my mistake.
As for Billie, I couldn't find a hair prop that matched Ryoko's hair.
Alya's and Chou Lee's room:
I couldn't find any decent beanbag chairs or hammocks so I went with the red couch.
The room descriptions are vague as how the rooms are set up.

Here we have the J Team, the Sinclair sisters.
Jade in the middle, is the leader,
Jann on the right, is Jade's older sister,
Jinn "Shroud" is Jade's bodyguard.
The reason that Jade is the leader, is because she's the only one of the three that is actually alive, the other two are ghosts.
Jann's skin is latex while Jinn's is ground up chalk.
Jann & Jade are off to do homework, while Jinn is all dressed up to go to a fraction 3 meeting.
I need to model Jades bracelets, hair clips & the kitty compact.
Not to mention the flying kitty buzz saw!

It's the J-Team!
I have Jade, Jann & Jinn in a hallway.
Jade & Jann are off to do homework while Jinn is all dressed up to meet Stephan at a faction 3 meeting.
I need to model Jades bracelets, hair clips & the kitty compact.
Not to mention the flying kitty buzz saw!

General approach good. Now for the nitpicking (sorry, I'm in a very nitpicky mood today):
1. They could look a bit more Japanese. Yes, I know that technically Jade is only half-Japaneses, but it has been remarked in-story that, after becoming Jade full-time, she has been looking very Japanese, taking a lot after her mother. (Since it has been theorized that Jade is a repressed Shifter, this can be a very slow unconscious shapeshifting).
2. Shroud should look way spookier than that. Think about a cloak with the bone-white skin half-glimpsed inside. In the pic, she looks... I don't know... like an old black-and-white photo of Jade's mother or something.
3. Although naming conventions are rather confusing when we are talking about the J-Team, Jinn is the only additional identity that is "public," that is, enrolled as a student and known to other people. Which means that, by logic, the one wearing the skin-pours and looking like a regular human should be Jinn, not Jann.
4. And, in fact, Jade has taken to calling the one she casts on her own skin as "Jann-sensei." So Jann wouldn't be an external identity anyway.
5. If both Jinn and Shroud are active at the same time (not sure if we have ever had this situation, since Shroud is supposed to be Jinn's mutant codename -- having both active at once would be rather calling attention to it), I think Jade would call the ghostly one just "Shroud," in the same way she stopped attempting to give a specific J-name to the Kitty Compact or Spinner
Don't call me Shirley. You will surely make me surly.

I agree with most of your nitpickery.
1) Not Japanese enough: I went for a big eyed anime look.
2) Shroud has white chalk for skin, coal for lips, eye lashes & finger nails. Painted balls for eyes. She lives in black & white.
As for her clothes, she's going to a party, of course she's dressed nice, not her usual rags.
3) True but I wanted to show both sides of her fake sister.
4) True
5) Semi not true: In several stories Jinn went to Turban's party while also doing detention or working with Morie in the sewers/elsewhere. It's nice to be in 3 or more places at the same time.
I did say that the kitty compact & spinner were not shown.
Besides I made this picture for the deviant art crowd anyway. They aren't as picky as you.

Still, I don't know what you used to make a picture, but with the tools you used very good.
|
My system:
AMD Athilon II 3.01 GHz 2 core
2 gigs DDR2
NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 onboard
WinXP SP3
It's about one year old.
Most of the software that I use is freely downloaded.
Paint Shop Pro 7 (trial version)
Blacksmith paint (trial)
Gimp 2.6.
Hexagon 2
DAZ Studio 2.2 here or here
DAZ Studio 3.1.1 Pro
Ver 2 works on older machines with less memory.
Ver 3 has problems with older video cards.
The only difference between the free & pro versions of Studio 3.1 is the figure rigging tools are locked out.
I do not recommend Ver 4 at this time. It has bugs.
The character models that I used are free from DAZ 3D.
Aiko 3 starter kit
Hiro 3 with A3, M3 & V3
Last year all of DAZ's original base models were free, now only half are.
Everything else, hair, clothing, room & other assorted props come from several online archives
This includes face & body morphs, skin & hair textures and texture sets for digital clothing.
Some sites require you to register before you can download.
DAZ 3D base models & current freebies.
Old DAZ weekly freebies.
A list of free Poser / DAZ models (over 400) from the DAZ user forum.
List of free hair
A list of Free 3d programs
Renderosity free poser / daz & etc stuff
Sharecg models, art & animation
Content Paradise poser freebies
Morphography master list of free sites
Workflow
Most of my renders are made with pre-existing props made by other people.
I just select the model, clothing, props, background & etc. Add them to the scene, pose everything, then render,
While I am doing this, I change the texture of the props to suit.
I do this with texture mats that I downloaded or made myself.
For quick cutting and paste I use PSP 7 for fast & easy changes in textures.
I use Gimp for custom layers or color changes.
If there are no pre-existing textures for a prop I'll use Blacksmith to make it.
If I can't find the prop I want, I'll make it in Hexagon, rig it in Studio 3, paint it, pose it, then render.
Right now I need to work on my lighting, so it looks right.

Permission to use your image for Wallflower?

Sure, granted and thanks for considering my work "good enough".
You should resize the picture smaller, the one on Mega-Girl's page is overpowering the whole page.
Is there a <size> command in the wiki software?
