I can't believe they would out and out kick her off the team. I could see her not being allowed to fight against living humans if they felt they could not protect those same humans, but she has to learn control. And she can only do that if she is giving a chance to use her power in controlled situations.
To wrap her in tissue and then turn her loose in four years would be asking for a disaster.
Unlike most of the other students she does not need to learn how to protect herself, but to keep from turning her opponents to ash.
I'll add a great big ditto to the teaser for the Outcasts. We finally find out that Catlin is going to get her tattoos in the very near future and not a few semesters down the road.
And that it must turn out semi-allright as she is being allowed to attend classes, though clearly something pretty extreme has happened to her.

Didn't the Outcasts also have way more than their fair share of team combat exercises recently due to some behind-the-scenes string pulling? I seem to remember them getting tired and bitchy back then already, but I don't recall offhand just when precisely that was...then again, it sounded like they ran into trouble on their Christmas break, too, so it's entirely possible that they went up against the voodoo weres still too tired for their own good. Extended stress isn't something you simply sleep off overnight.

| But she turned part of the ranges radioactive. They might have to restrict her power usage somehow - maybe through having her run *only* sim games, or something.| thtiger wrote on Sun, 22 March 2009 18:27 | To wrap her in tissue and then turn her loose in four years would be asking for a disaster.
| Indeed. But maybe she needs some gadgeteer or devisor help in containing that radioactivity she generates when using her powers. There's a guy in Hawthorne who emits radiation, you know, and he's got a suit to contain it.| thtiger wrote on Sun, 22 March 2009 18:27 | Unlike most of the other students she does not need to learn how to protect herself, but to keep from turning her opponents to ash.
| And maybe more importantly, how to not give her allies and bystanders lethal radiation burns.| thtiger wrote on Sun, 22 March 2009 18:27 | I'll add a great big ditto to the teaser for the Outcasts. | There's another teaser in one of the James episodes I think, about *how* she solved that puzzle. And perhaps clues all over, but there's many possible threads there.| thtiger wrote on Sun, 22 March 2009 18:27 | And that it must turn out semi-allright as she is being allowed to attend classes, though clearly something pretty extreme has happened to her.
| Or alternatively, she's been forced to do something pretty extreme to herself.

From Burdue and Sam's comments it sounds like TK may become the designated red team for the sims like the outcasts.
I would image that the simulator will have problems with Tennyo / Stalker's reality warping and powers the first time someone tries to negate her normal abilities.
And how is phase going to stay in the simulator suit when he loses concentration

A possibility is tweaking the RULES of the sims. Like, establishing a big penalty for Tennyo using her energy blasts -- for instance, if as far as sims are concerned, Team Kimba is fifty times more sensitive to Tennyo's radiation damage than the enemy. So, if she tries to use them in any significant way, she could "kill" her own team.
That would be useful, because it would force Tennyo to focus in self-control -- using mostly her "brick" powers, the energy sword once in a while and the blasts only as a last resort. And even then, there would be an incentive for her to practice small, pinpoint-precise blasts instead of huge honking destructive ones. A sniper rifle instead of a blockbuster bomb, so to speak.
Don't call me Shirley. You will surely make me surly.

IIRC each team member gets a separate room in the simulator so Tennyo's powers shouldn't be a problem for the rest of TK.

While I am thinking about it, what about all the autonomous devices that Generator casts into. Would each device need some sort of suit. Something you hold or throw could be simulated, like a sword or darts, but each of the J-Team does their own thing after being charged.

Yea, from the shoulder angels side of things I await the unveiling of Jerico's. He might have some for the rest of the outcasts too.

Of course, looking at the shoulder angel perspective, I'm just waiting for the first teacher with a pair.

I've thought about Jinn's vision problems a bit since the babysitting episode - wouldn't it be possible to create a video-camera with an output to a tactile medium gadget/devise? There are various tactile display gizmos in prototype to be seen on Youtube, so I would think that something like that for Jinn would be easy to knock together for most gadgeteer/devisors.
