Reading through, it was a good, quick, fun story.
I just have a question - what's "Poozer" supposed to be, from Ace, at the end?
"Hoser" is really rarely used (I've only heard it from people from around Thunder Bay, and mostly as a joke), and "Poser" wouldn't be lengthened, even in the normal Ontario accent.
(*grumble* I still have to get back to Ottawa and get my paperwork straightened out. I have to trade my birth certificate in for a Citizenship Card)
Thanks for the fun!

In all my years in staying in Canada with relatives for the summer (and other times of the year), I've _never_ heard it. I've heard people called 'posers' in general (which would fit "Captain" Canada to a T), but never poozer.
I will admit, if it's from New Brunswick, or Manitoba/Saskatchewan, I wouldn't know it. Even Vancouver is a bit out of my way, although I had friends from there.
Ah well, I did find a mention of it from a Green Lantern comic, just now, so I guess it fits.
(I'm not sure he's really a douchebag or asshole, in that regard, however )
Thanks!

I've never heard it used, and I'd have to say that with the mingling of cultures brought on by TV and the Internet that you're more likely to see a Canadian teen using urban gang slang than anything uniquely Canadian.
So something from a DC comic book would not be out of line. Captain Canada is a bit of a Canadian Guy Gardner, and I think he was labeled a Pooser quite often by Kilowag? Might have the name wrong.
Mind you, we still have our Newfies and other regional ethnic slurs. Eh? does exist, but it's so ingrained in those people who use it that they are not even aware of it and will deny it most vigorously, even if you play them a recording. ^_^

Ive heard Poozer in two contexts .
One is when a person hasn't bathed in a while.
The other more common one is a type of poutine.
Hoser is more likely the word your looking for it's kinda a blend between jerk and idiot.
