Hmmm, I don't know. The whole point of the blackmail was to identify Tennyo -- that is, the blackmailer wished to know exactly who Bill Wilson had become. These are the people involved in the Ultra-X-Amine plot. Serious black ops stuff. Somehow, I don't think Tansy qualifies -- she's too egotistical.
Sure, she knows Ayla. But, OTOH, Ayla's transformation wasn't exactly low profile. There were lawyers and injunctions floating around, and Eris knows how many strings the Goodkinds had to pull just to keep the whole sordid scandal out of the tabloids. Which means that any paranormal research conspiration worth its salt probably got wind of it -- c'mon, not only the irony of a mutant Goodkind is too delicious not to become the hottest topic of gossip among both the super-scene and the high society since Marilyn sang "Happy Birthday" to JFK, but there is also the matter of the Goodkinds employing that crazy doctor -- who's undoubtedly unethical as all getout, but also is considered one of the top researchers of the field, and worth keeping tabs on.

In the very first Ayla story there is this line when they are in the cafeteria for the first time:
"There were some upperclassmen sitting around the huge dining area. I noticed with some discomfort that there was one drop-dead incredible blond babe who was glaring at me like she wanted to hack me into bite-sized bits. Had word about my last name gotten around the campus that quickly? That didn't bode well for my future at Whateley."
That had to be Tansy, and I remember in another story, not sure which, someone remarking that Tansy's house mother was irritated at her for showing up early and then not helping out. The discussion (in story) after that was found out was that she had to have had prior knowledge of who Ayla was and is, and is therefor most likely the blackmailer.

I'm so sorry about that. I was so busy reading all the stories that I didn't even look at the forums for ages. Also, I got into reading the stories long after the beginning. Took me several months to read up to the current point at that time then I went back and re-read them several times. I have trouble keeping up with all the stuff going on even now that I'm retired. Heh! There was a time I'd copy a story and email it to my work email so I could read it during my lunch break... ROFL
