Heat... What kind of heat?
That's exactly what Sir Lee was talking about. When light Ayla is immune to convection since she can't touch thigs. She's still vulnerable to radiation, but radiating heat is just another form of EM energy.

Yeah, but my point was that the threat posed by focused emission (i.e. laser) is much greater than unfocused emission (i.e. flame).

I do not understand why Chou gave Ayla pajamas that go light with him, instead of doing the same thing that's done on all sensitive envelopes and have a pajama Phase cannot go through even when light.

Because Chou's gift will prevent Ayla from humiliating himself, but not from phasing through the bed and then rematerializing inside Chou thus killing her! Pajamas that prevent Phase from going through them would be able to prevent that. And since we've seen things that can stop Phase when light pretty routinely used, it can't be that hard to make either.

Actually, those "two" are the same thing. When light, Ayla is vulnerable to any form of energy attacks *including* forcefields, which, after all, are a form of energy.

Technically, yes. But most people only thing of force-fields as barriers, (which would also be effective against Phase in his dense state). This is an unusual side-effect which might not be anticipated by an enemy.

Quote:
Conversely, when "light", Ayla is very vulnerable to heat -- but then, in this state most of the heat would be transmitted in the form of radiant energy, that is, infrared radiation -- and then we are back to EM vulnerability...

Ayla still needs to breath, so the biggest risk might be inhalation of hot gases. He could probably walk through flames provided he held his breath but if stuck in a larger area of fire he might have problems.

That's not certain, however. From his powers testing we know that there is some affect on air passing across his warp threshold so it's at least conceivable that this would ameliorate the risk. But there's no telling, really.

Maybe Ayla should start focusing on Human/Mutant relations. And the first order of business is.......Extreme Home Makeover:Mutant edition. Build crews made up entirely of mutants who use their powers on camera to repair homes that have been damaged by hero fights. Mutants get seen as doing something useful and humans who've had their houses destroyed because the Limp Lighter blew it up. Of course it should still be hosted by Ty if he's even still alive and maybe feature a (air quotes) Main stream hero/hero team. Just some food for thought for those who think Ayla should be spending more of her money to help people. And Diana if you use that make sure you send me a shout-out. Twisted Evil

AJG Consolidated-sponsored TV shows that show the mutants in a positive light. Interesting idea.

Actually He would need his own network, and since California isn't that supportive to Mutant Actors he might have to set up shop in Texas which has a few studios as well (I believe Walker: Texas Ranger is filmed in Texas and New Mexico.)

oh and another thought he should get the lit chix to write a script for him and do an all mutant cast movie. Talk about the summer blockbuster. maybe do a remake of the avengers. Who do you think should play the roles? Hank as the Hulk:"Hank Smash!" and maybe Ayla as Nick Fury. yeah i knot he's not black and he has both eyes...and boobs, but hey everyone already thinks he bought team Kimba why not the Avengers too?

In the original comics, Nick Fury was not black.

Yeah, but Samuel L. Jackson just ROCKS that role, doesn't he?

I honestly cannot think of a better person for the role.

The movie needs only ONE actor: Jimmy T.

Anyway, Jimmy T as Hulk, Zenith as the Black Widow, Ironstar as Ironman, Pendragon and Peril as Captain America and Thor (not sure how playes whom)..... no ideas for hawkeye here and sorry, he isn't a mutant but Bardue is perfect as Nick Fury.

No, the movie needs a little turn around by substituting the preliminary male cast with a even preliminary female cast. So, start with TK, add at least Bunny and Rip, in a nice warm climate with several scene's in swimming clothing and I think you could be reasonably sure you will have a block buster Wink

Soooo.... "The Avengers: Gender Swapped Beach Volleyball Tournament of Doom"?

This sounded at least a little funny in my head. Not sure how well it translated into words.
