Until individual threads are developed for the characters of Loose Cannons as needed (as they don't have codenames or much individualism other than Ev yet). Also for group discussion that doesn't fit in with the story discussion.

I hope they all make it--you never know, with stuff like this.

One character down.

Since the other characters were able to test the dynomorph crystals while Evan was unconsious, they have their different effects figured out for each of them. Evan was only able to try the gravity crystal, it will be interesting to see what the others do when s/he gets a chance to try them (I'm thinking that the light crystal might do something). Also, could the different crystals be used together to create even more power combinations?

Another morbid speculation: one or more of the kids get captured and have their dynomorphs extracted, the remaning character(s) are able to recover the extracted crystals(?) and holds on to them for personal use and as a memorial.

I hope it isn't really that dark. The story so far reminds me of the Merry stories. But seriously, they ought to think about starting a youtube-blog-whatever campaign.

Never think to have thought, since the thinking of thoughts is thoughtless thinking.
You think!

Pretty much most that are still available. A few dates:

Youtube - 2005
Myspace - 2003
Facebook - 2004
Orkut - 2004
Blogger - 1999 (acquired by Google on 2003)
Wordpress - 2003
Reddit - 2005
del.icio.us - 2003

Microblogging, however, was still in its infancy: Twitter and Tumblr both date from April 2007 (although Twitter was running small-scale for almost a year before).

This XKCD cartoon/map gives a pretty good idea of the online scenario back then -- it's dated Spring 2007, just about where Whateley currently is:

MySpace is basically dead now, right? I'm not very big on social media.

Feel free to check with The Way Back Machine.

While not as addicting as TV Tropes, you should still put aside some time while viewing here.

@Beyogi
I would hope that it is not that dark either, but Bek did state that this was going to be different from other origins.
