I was very surprised when I checked back at Merry's first story and saw that it starts in October 06, while Petra's Italian odyssey begins in November - I had it in my head that Merry spent more time cooped up at ARC than she actually did, or possibly that there were bigger time gaps between the Merry stories than there actually were. With this in mind, Merry's mental state is now completely understandable! I'm sure that if I had to go through all the shit that Chad/Merry/Petra have been shoved through, I'd go loopy as well...

There are worlds where the sky is burning, and the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream. People made of smoke, and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea's getting cold...

Merry, and her offshoots, have been really, really busy.

Paige and Petra have a life that, quite frankly, sucks. At least they're finally at a place that's safe. Well, Paige is.

The 'were-cougar' thing especially sucks. She was ALMOST out...

Maybe not time related, but more spacial. Hey, time and space are related, aren't they? Anyways, I have a funny little comment to make after I did something the other day.

I was playing around with Google maps, and I decided, "Hey, let's try finding that Church in the Merry stories, St. Whatsisname." so I typed it into the box, and whaddaya know, but a result came up in downtown New York. I zoomed in on it and went down to street view, but instead of a Catholic type cathedral, I see this brown Protestant looking church. I just thought that was funny, is all. I think the street names and some of the landmarks even match up, actually.

Only problem is, Merry is from *Philadelphia*, not New York.

But the Church is in New York. He was on a day trip when he manifested.

Aren't you mixing up Renae's Merry (you know, the multiple-personality hermaphroditic technopath who married Sara and was eventually split into Paige and Petra), who this thread is about, with Kerry, the character from Bek's story "There's an Angel in Father John's Basement"?

Whoops, you're right. Though Merry did stay at the Church once. Father John was the one who knighted her, remember?

IIRC, that was Father Pete.

I think you're confusing Merry and Kerry.

LuLou I've been wrong before, and I'll be wrong again. But I could be right this time.

I thought it was Father Pete that knighted her--different city, different church.

Father Pete knighted her as a knight of the Catholic church the same order of the Rose as he was in. Doesn't matter which church you're at when you do it.
