I know exactly what you mean.
From the time I was a little kid, I always acted like a few years older than I was and I found adults easier to relate to than people my age.
Now, I'm in my early 20's, and people tell me I'm acting like I'm a 30-year-old. Go figure. It's not like I'm trying to be older at heart; it just works out that way.

I know that originally I said I would edit the post I made before this one with the links to the full length picture I cropped my avatar from and the wallpaper from the defunct forum that I was a member of at the time the avatar was drawn for me. However, since there have been more replies to my intro thread, I decided to do it this way instead.

The drawings were made of existing characters that had been around for more than a year. In the wallpaper, that is my character's boyfriend, an unlimited shape changer, that she is standing next to. Also she about to cast a spell on the character sitting on the ground in front of her. The drawing of my character was done in December 2005, and the wallpaper was finished in January 2006. Each character in the picture was either 'not quite human', had a very special talent, or was very, very good at what they did (beyond 'normal' humans).
Maybe having been a member of this group is what makes the Whateley universe so attractive to me. The cast of characters from the dead forum would have fit right in at the Whateley Academy.
