The original Buccaneer left one hell of a legacy for an alcoholic 'Nam vet with PTSD and trunk of souvenirs.

He first showed up in the late 70's, a lone nutcase wearing a jumbled mix of body armor, NFL gear, and a football helmet over a skull mask. He'd fire off flares when the Buccaneers scored, blow up the occasional car full of cocaine dealers, and generally was more a local character than hero.

That changed when he came down with some kind of cancer from a combination of agent orange and napalm fumes. The original Bucc passed his gear on to the quarterback of the team, who had no real idea what to do with a a suit of military spec body armor, a trunk of assault rifles, and a grenade launcher. But the team rather liked the lovable nutcase, and when he retired their winning streak almost immediately dried up.

So they hired a stadium guard to dress up in his gear on game days, and things kind of escalated from there. Thirty years later Bucc had picked up a baby sister Bolt, sponsored by the local NHL franchise. Instead of a mishmash of army surplus vests and weapons, they're armed with heavily themed army surplus power armor and custom weapons.

Bucc is actually two suits of heavy assault armor, painted up in Buccaneers colors while still retaining the characteristic skull face helmet. Bucc carries a 40mm rotary grenade launcher, and a pair of electrified cutlasses. Bolt is again actually a pair of light recon suits, up-armored to have a female silhouette and limited flight capabilities. Bolt carries a 40mm grenade pistol, and a pair of retractable whip tazers.

Instead of a single security guard Bucc and Bolt are piloted by a hand picked corps of pilots. The six of them rotate out being on standby, giving Bucc and Bolt the appearance of inhuman stamina and health.

Interesting story idea, although it might have gone better in the actual fanfic, or with just a little framing, say being told from the POV of one of the current pilots, in the Micro Scenes section. But still, the idea of a sports franchise sponsoring a superhero is really cool.

Haw, THAT's why they'd hire a five footer. I like it. Surprised

Hey Yall.

So, aside from like, one or two definite goals, I really have no idea where to go with this. Bucc and Bolt are kind of like a fever dream I had while playing in a story arc in the Darkmyst RP channel. As such things often do, they kind of took on a life and momentum of their own.

But I have no idea where to go with it. So I'm asking you.

That's my ADD showing Trusting. If I don't post in small bits as the mood hits me, experience has shown it never gets posted.

"Now Man up and get your tits on?" Somehow these words just don't belong together. I am rather curious why they need the 'falsies' at all given they're wearing an armor suit. On the other hand I can see the 'new' guy getting the pink suit. That's so like standard hazing.

I need combat quips. Like, ones appropriate to ice hockey and grrl power.

The pair are on a PR gig, and Bucc's pilot doesn't know that Bolt is being piloted by the new guy... so of course he starts flirting...

I can't think of any quips, but this story idea has such hilarious potential. Surprised

I like that Bolt is getting set up as an actual frontline unit, with Bucc more as a heavy backup unit, Although, rather than "Bucc and Bolt", it might have been better to do "Bucc and the Lightning Girls", playing off the Tampa Bay Lightning cheerleaders, that way there could have been several of them. You might do catchphrases based off of team motto's, like Be the Thunder.

I have to say I like this line. It stands out very nicely and evokes a great image.
