| Most, yeah, but not, for example: Screech

Imitating people is a common Siren power, like breaking glass and "voicing" people into obedience. But it's not universal. Beyond special cases like Screech, some Sirens like Chorale don't even manage to pass as a regular human, let alone any regular human they want.

Magic. It's a free pass to have pretty much whatever you like long as you're willing to work on it.

PDP with fighter Paragon ESP trait. Fubar level. There's just so much you can do with that! And really, who DOESN'T want full telepathy?
As another choice, I have a character I'm writing for an X-Men fanfic, and I would totally love to be her. Wings that allow for flight through just about anything (air, water, ground, flames, outer space, etc.), exemplar 2 body (not gorgeous 'cause I don't care about that), regen 4-7, only active while flapping wings and up to 30 minutes after and level depending on how fast she flap, a screech that can disable PSI for about a minute, and flame feathers active when angry which can be released at will and explode on contact with a fair amount of force (not enough to take out a PK brick, but enough to probably at least knock back high-level Exemplars). Can grow gills underwater, can panic-phase through the ground and breathe in there while flying through it, can make wings glow when happy, and (downside) involuntarily phases wings only when panicked, which tends to make her drop out of the air a lot...
If I make a Whateley fic with her (probably not), I'd add fighter Paragon just to stick it to sensei Ito. Sue-ish, but in my fics, pretty much any durable non-PSI can either beat her or give her a decent challenge. Which is pretty much anyone.

My ability allows me to go to another universe. 1 time.
Think how you could game that.

This isn't a Whateleyverse power.
If we go there, I've decided what I want ages ago : Pattern Walking (from the Princes of Amber by Zelazny). Unlimited awesome right there.

The devil, as they say, is in the detail.
How much control? Can you take anyone/thing with you? Do you have knowledge of the universe on the other side? Are you assuming an infinite universes model, so you could get anything you want on the other side? Are you assuming it could even be an impossible fantasy universe?

Q1: you arrive alive and safe.
Q2: anything you can carry, though if you game this right, that is a moot point.
Q3: You go to an universe you imagine. If you feel like being dropped in Krynn/Whateleyverse/Dresdenverse/red-light-means-green-light verse/whateververse, then bam, you arrive when and where you want.
Q4: Assume infinite monkey pounds typewriter unlimited diversity amount of universes.
Q5: yes.

Another problem with Alternate reality travelling is the issue of YOUR alternate. Assuming that in every alternate universe is an alternate you, what happens to them and what happens if the two of you meet/touch/screw? Do you inhabit your alternate for the time being until you slide off to another alternate universe?
(Where would I go if I had this power? Assuming that I inhabit the body of my alternate and they inhabit mine in this universe, the first one would be the universe where everyone is the opposite gender to what they are in this one. Then the universe where the technology was never held back, then the universe where Australia is 100% forest, then the universe where Australia holds roughly the same position that America holds in this universe, then the Whateley Universe, then the universe where everyone wears cowboy hats, then the universe where the results of a coin flip were the opposite of the results of coin-flips in this universe, then the universe that is slightly Japanophilic (may or may not be a cyberpunk setting) then the universe where I have a female cousin the same age as me and divorce was socially accepted before it was in this universe, then the universe that hosts the Assassin/Templar shadow war (including a lone Assassin agent wrecking the nazis shit in a Nazi-occupied France during WWII) then the universe where SCIENCE! reined beyond the 1950's, then the universe with anthropomorphic animals (Claim I'm a hairless bonobo) THEN the Discworld, THEN the universe that Bayonetta/Devil May Cry share THEN the universe where everything is the same except that it is 10 feet lower than it would be in this universe, then the Tarantino-verse, then the Viewaskewniverse. After all that, I'd go home.)

| Mikeli Soth wrote on Fri, 27 April 2012 14:15 | I'm sorry. I must clarify. You get to go to one universe. You are then stuck there. You do not inhabit your other body. You can high five/go highlander/ignore them.

That's how I interpreted your original post. I must say, I can't see the point. Or at least, I don't see what you could achieve that can't be done more simply.
If you have a particular universe and circumstances in mind, then just the ability to go there would suffice. (And if it's because you think the current universe sucks, why not something to change it?)
Or do you want it as a one-use "get out of gaol free" card? Do unspeakable things in our universe, then if things go tits-up jump out to another universe?
