Unless you're talking actual official, registered codenames, I wouldn't have thought that Miki in particular would care what anyone else thought, or if a name she liked had been used before.
I suspect that all the non-obscure devilish names will have been used somewhere. Likewise lupine names.

Beyond the fact that we now know that Roger Milton is making the area a haven for mutants (or at least Sunbeam thinks he is), no really new info, but a fair amount of clarification.

She knows his secret, but he somehow doesn't know hers (hint: he's an idiot).

Well, I'd never figured that ^^ I can really understand why the goon would go to the MCO. Where else could you go if you'd been drawn to deep into mutant shit?
I mean you have people running around with powers that can make them godlike. What can a normal person do after being influenced by an esper? Go to the police after being thought for murder, because a mutant used you to kill the guy who insulted her on the street?
I'd go to the MCO first, they're more likely to believe you instead of just putting you into prison.
Never think to have thought, since the thinking of thoughts is thoughtless thinking.
You think!

I've finally got around to reading this - wow!
It's certainly a different approach to a WU story, but it definitely "works".
I'd hazard a guess by her attitude towards life that developmentally, Miki's probably in her tweens (i.e. what US schools would call "Junior High" - the 9-13ish area between childhood [primary] and teenage [high]) - in a way she reminds me of the TLW with her enthusiasm and inability / unwillingness to think things through or consider the consequences.
Jack is, for fairly obvious reasons, harder to place. He's filling a kind of older brother / mentor role and is much more down to earth - it's just annoying for him that his current 100% canine form makes communication with anyone other than Miki or telepaths rather difficult.
Sunbeam - not necessarily non-TG male beforehand. Plenty of genetic women hate their bodies, and she'd been, say, a fairly average or perhaps slightly overweight, not really noticeable girl beforehand then suddenly gets transformed into a stunning beauty, then that would cause mixed feelings given her strong anti-mutant stance. Add onto that she can harness the power of the sun so considers herself to be potentially a very dangerous mutant who could cause widespread damage and devasation, and the combination could certainly tip her into the "kill yourself and as many other mutants as possible" camp.
As for our criminal gang, the MCO do seem the best bet to contact with regards to their suspicions about Sunbeam. Given their history, the police or heroes probably wouldn't believe them, and if they heard about the gang's occupation, would probably try to jail them asap. The MCO, however, especially if the local branch is friendly with organisations such as H1!, would be far more likely to take their story seriously. Although what action they could take over someone who could literally instantly cremate any foes...

I suppose the best way to deal with Sunbeam is to work out a way of luring her away from areas where people are likely to live or congregate. Given how recently she turned up, she's probably an unknown to the authorities. So while she may be susceptible to a sniper bullet, if she's got a danger sense (unlikely but possible) she'd be able to detect it, neutralise it, and also neutralise the sniper. Even if she didn't have a danger sense, there's a chance she could explode even if killed instantly.
The problem, of course, is working out how to lure her away from habitation - if she's smart she won't have established an identifiable pattern to her attack locations...

Meanwhile, a thought regarding Miki's codename: how about using the specific variety of imp she originally was before evolving / transforming into her current form, or something based on that?
Jack's harder - and something like Canis sapiens is a bit unwieldy even if pretty accurate. Perhaps a portmanteau along the lines of Canisapien?
